Way back in 1965, Michael Griffin wanted to open a neighborhood bar. With his love of sports and sport fans and the wee bit O' Irish in him he created Griff's. Since then Griff's has become the oldest surviving sports bar in Houston, and the site of the largest St. Patrick's Day Festival in Texas. Though Michael has sold Griff's to a group of younger guys, you never know when he may be sitting at the bar.

Many of the traditions that Michael started are carried on today, especially the GRIFF'S ARMY.\'ca The ARMY is made up of sports enthusiasts of amateur, college, semi-pro, and professional teams of all sports. To become a member of the ARMY, just show up at Griff's and join the other enthusiasts. The ARMY gathers at Griff's to just watch the games or to take bus trips to the games!

Throughout the year, we take the PARTY BUS to many sporting events including the Astros, Rockets, Aeros and Comets. We also take bus trips to the festivals, such as the Renaissance Festival and Mardi Gras in Galveston. And of course we go on pub crawls.
